I challenge you to find one Christian sect or denomination which has not varied from the whole truth of scripture in some way, even if only that some is given too much emphasis and other too little.  It falls to each of us who claim Jesus Christ as Lord to read it for ourselves and know what we believe.  The knowledge and council of those who have gone before is of great value, but it provides no substitute for that which we know because the Holy Spirit has revealed it to us.  The Bible remains the standard by which we may test that which we hear.  Anything that is found to be in contradiction to His written word has its origin in an entirely different kind of spirit.
